On a personal note, I think JR (the amp) tried to be a gentlier Krell and a slower Naim.

Something like a solid state in tube clothing.

I hope the new JR, which I've not heard, is something Spectral and will not miss the Mark.

Anyway, who shot JR(the guy, but not this guy)?

Naim is fast? I don't get it. I own a full fledged new Naim system and I follow strictly to the manufacturer's systems hierachy and recommendation. Naim produces stereo hi-fi system, which means they have all the attributes of a good quality hi resolution system i.e Naim can image, got soundstage and depth, tranparency and not forgetting PRAT.What I like the most is they sounded "BALANCED" and this is the main reason I draw into it.Besides you don't have to dabble into expensive cables to get it right.I don't subscribe to general connotation of Naim being "fast" or "for rock music only". Is it that "fast" means when you play "slow" number it will "run" and not "walk". I would rather define "fast" as the ability of the system to sound tight, not bloated and over extended. For hard rockers, NAIM has a path (unlike others) for them to pursue to achieve the ultimate in rock music playback i.e. by going active or permutated NAIM.
